When I taught my first lesson it was in Mrs. Nagel's music class. When I got their though it was her off period and then she had a class. For my lesson I taught the class the rules again. Something that they have already been over with the teacher. Their was though one kid that questioned me in the order the rules should go in. But I told him that we are going to do the rules in order. Told that when u are the teacher one day u could do it in any order u choose, but we going it my way. From that point on nobody else questioned me or what we were doing ,and the rest of the lesson went smoothly.
My lesson went really smoothly, better than I expected. I taught short I and what sound it makes. I had them BLEND some words with short I that I had in note-cards ready for them to read. Then 3 of the students came up and said all the words. The students were really excited, they would all raise their hands to participate. Then I told them we were going to play BINGO! And they knew how to play and how they knew they had BINGO. I would say the words then they would “echo” it and they would say the sounds of each letter of the word. We kept doing that until someone got bingo. I thought I had the class pretty much under control, and my cooperating teacher was writing stuff down every time I would do something, so hopefully is good stuff.
My lesson first lesson was to read the book "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly".Mrs Reese let me borrow the prop she has in her room. When i began to start reading i had the book on the floor and i had memorized the book the night after(youtube)so i knew most of the story by memory. But i would occationally look down to see if iwas saying the story right.as iwas reading the kids were VERY into it they were fasinated by the fact that the doll swallowed all the objects. they were so into it that they made me read it again to them. my cooperating teacher gave me positive feed back and so did this other teacher who had happen to walk in while iwas reading.
My first lesson was over mealworms. We observed them and then set up vials for their habitats. Each student got their own worm which was exciting for them. They got a little rowdy because they thought everything was so cool but they always listened when i did an attention getter and they followed all of my instructions. It was a tough lesson to do but they did really well and I'm happy with the way everything turned out.
That is so nasty haha. I bet that was such a hard lesson to do. My 2nd graders get so out of control when we do centers or big experiments like that. I'm glad yours got it done though! Good job girl
My first lesson was teaching some of the kids how to write. Since i get their when they start centers i decided to do that. I would tell them what letters they have in their name and they would repeat after me. I also had them trace their name with their finger. Then they started writing on paper. It was hard to explain how to write their name, because i cant do it for them. Other then that, they got the hang of it!!
Miriam Castillo My 1st lesson was to read "How full is your bucket?" I did the same strategies that the second years did last year. I enjoyed teaching them, but the main reason for the lesson was because my students are having trouble giving each other positive feed back when there working in groups.everyday now I come in we take 5mins and fill up everyone's bucket. My teacher gave me positive feedback and can't wait till I teach them again. I really enjoyed working with my students.
Well the first time I taught my voice was mostly gone so they couldn't talk much which was good. We did a vocab foldable and popcorn read a story. They did the vocab foldable as a table group. Had fun and enjoyed teaching them. Can't wait till next time and also when I get to teach my science class.
My first lesson was over nonfiction features. I had all my kids sit in their carpet spots with their TIME magazines and identify different kinds of features. We went over captions, illustrations, maps, photographs, etc. They raised their hand to define each word, and I only acknowledged students who didn't speak out. I gave each student positive feedback for their encouragement, and wrote the correct answers on a poster. We reviewed the poster, and then I let the quietest students go back to their tables first. The next morning they had to copy the poster in their notebooks by memory.
